Customer Service Representative

The Harriman Utility Board (HUB) is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service to HUB customers and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. Candidates should possess proficiency in numerical calculations and basic computer skills. Familiarity with customer service principles and practices is preferred.

A partial listing of essential functions include:

    • Addresses customer inquiries and resolves complaints promptly.
    • Handles customer payments for utilities, including credit card and online transactions.
    • Manages significant sums of money daily and ensures accurate reconciliation of cash drawers at the close of each day.
    • Generates service orders efficiently.
    • Answers calls and routes them to the necessary department or person to address their concerns.

Utility Right-of-Way Foreman

The Harriman Utility Board (HUB) has an immediate opening for a Utility Right-of-Way Foreman.

Job Requirements: Must possess a valid Tennessee Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Requires a high school or vocational school degree or equivalent. Must demonstrate the ability to independently direct and supervise crews, proactively identify work needs, and safely receive and carry out both oral and written instructions. Strong knowledge of right-of-way maintenance, vegetation management cycles, tree trimming practices, equipment operation, traffic control, and OSHA safety standards is required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and capable of planning work activities without routine task assignment. Preference will be given to applicants with line clearance experience and demonstrated leadership in directing field operations.

Job Summary: Directs and supervises crews for general maintenance of all utility right-of-ways under the direct supervision of the Electric Superintendent. This position is responsible for proactively evaluating system conditions, identifying maintenance needs, maintaining accurate progress tracking, and ensuring HUB’s right-of-ways remain in excellent condition through disciplined and forward-looking vegetation management practices.
